Lupe Fiasco Calls MTV The “Illuminati’s Favorite Network”

Backstory: MTV posted this idiotic article. Lupe got angry and ranted about MTV’s continual decline on his twitter.

“Oh snap…MTV (illuminati’s favorite network) back on the attack…why can’t y’all just chill out? Salacious banality @ the speed of light? I think I’ve been very good natured with you. I personally know several employees of your company. You guys know me as well. I’m confused. Where is the true music journalism??? where is Suchin?!! What happened? Where are the honest critiques of cultural expression? For it’s not about being RIGHT it’s about being HOT. Fame over self-awareness and virtue. Hedonism over self respect. Celebrity over cerebral. A destroying force in our culture and society just like rest of the useless vapid spectacles that pour out of our tv’s and radios.

What are we supposed to be learning from you? What is your point? Do you have a point beyond corporate sponsored distraction? Your a materialistic shell of your former self that can only identify with celebrity pageantry and instant gratification. Corporate garbage pushing plastic lifestyles and wasteful, destructive behavior into the brains of the youth of the world. So when your relevance thins in2 a whisper & the stock price collapses and you have 2 come 2 grips with the mess you made. I’ll be here 4 ya. We’ll be here. With hands full of baby powder 2 smack some sense back into your body & a warm shoulder to cry on. We want the REAL MTV back!”

In Case you missed it: Kanye West - Runaway

Kanye West's "Runaway" was filmed in Prague over the period of four days in the summer of 2010. The script was written by Hype Williams with the story by West. Vanessa Beecrofy served as the art director with Jonathan Lia as producer. Mr. West describes the video as an "overall representation of what [he dreams]" and a parallel to his music career. Speaking to MTV News, Kanye said he wanted women in his life, including his mother and ex-girlfriends, represented in the video, and for them to "connect with the different emotions". According to leading lady model Selita Ebanks, who co-stars in the video, the moral is, "the world doesn't accept, or they try to change, what is different, instead of trying to understand it."
The full video was screened in Paris on October 5. The video debuted on October 23, 2010 simultaneously on MTV, BET, and VH1.

Kanye has been making headlines once again this week because his twitter tirade after his interview with Matt Lauder yesterday (Nov. 10, 2010) on The Today Show. Kanye lashed out via twitter stating “I went up there to express how I was empathetic to Bush because I labeled him a racist and years later I got labeled as a racist,” adding, “While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the ‘MTV’ [incident] under me with audio!!!!!!!”

“I don’t mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show,” he continued, “and that’s a very nice way for me to put it"

uring an NBC special earlier this week, Lauer asked George W. Bush about the now infamous moment when Kanye, during a telethon to raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims and damage, deviated from the script, saying “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” Bush told Lauer it was “one of the most disgusting moments” of his presidency.

Later in his Twitter rant, Kanye expressed that he felt “very judged” and “I don’t trust anyone.”

Marijuana: A Chronic History

Dedicated To The Medicated. This is a good documentary I caught the other night on the History Channel. You can either watch it from here or download after the jump. LEGALIZE IT!

The fight against drug use in America has been going on since the turn of the last century but the term "War on Drugs" only became part of our national dialogue in 1970 when it was first used by President Richard Nixon. The President later formed the DEA and started a push to outlaw drugs of all kinds. Among the most discussed drugs in this war is Marijuana. This special will look at the storied and strange history of Marijuana in America.

Jessie J (UK) - Who You Are

Jessie J has one of the best and unique voices I have heard in a long time. This british singer/songwriter is on a steady come up across the pond and has crossed over here with her new Single "Who You Are" which was featured on the movie "Step Up 3D". From the youtube videos that i have seen from her, she puts the creativity back into songwriting and she is one of the most versatile artists I have heard. Apparently, she has wrote song for some pretty big names such as Miley Cyrus' "Party In the USA" , Chris Brown's "I Need This" and Alicia Keys' (Next Single) "L.O.V.E". She grabbed my attention with and Acoustic Version of her First single "Do It Like A Dude" check it out after the jump.

she's hittin the airwaves with her second single and title track "Who You Are" Check out the trailer. to keep up with Jessie J you can follow her on:
